Mr. Obeidat is a global serial entrepreneur, researcher, and an impactful investor. He has over a decade of experience in leading successful technology startups, business consulting and fintech. In 2013, Obeidat built the first online investment platform for spot precious metals deliverable contracts, and was involved, as of 2016, in the investment of over a US$ billion in the gold markets in the EMEA. In 2017, he founded Investifai, an artificial intelligence (AI) powered wealth management startup, producing higher risk-adjusted returns than most of the traditional investment managers.
Obeidat holds a BA degree in applied chemistry from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), and a masters’ degree in global management (MGM) from Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC, Canada, where he conducted an empirical research that focuses on managing global multi-asset investment portfolios using machine learning models.
Dr. Steeg is a Canadian entrepreneur with a MSc & PhD in Computer Science from University of Toronto, and a BA in Mathematics and Economics at Cornell University. He worked with renowned neural networks pioneer Dr. Geoffrey Hinton of Google fame. At DuPont, Queen’s University, Los Alamos National Labs, National Research Council (NRC) and Molecular Mining Corp, he built computational models for various applications, including drug development, farm profitability and factory process optimization, and helped in launching multimillion dollar public-private R&D partnerships in biologic drugs, vaccines, wheat genomics and industrial biomaterials.. Dr. Steeg has numerous publications and presentations on AI, machine learning and bioinformatics. He received patents in the US, Canada, and Australia for a novel, fast association mining algorithm. He Founded and led an AI / bioinformatics company, raising $13M and launching two software products globally and building a co-marketing alliance with IBM. As the National Research Council’s Foresight Director, he led a major technology foresight projects on Big Data & AI, exploring the key drivers, risks and highest-value applications.
Dr. Awad received his PhD in Physics from the University of Strathclyde in 2013. He has performed various top management roles at Fuel Industries, Next Frontier Digital Investments (NFDI), Ascendancy, and MAS Holding. He has successfully exited multiple high-tech ventures, and has a deep network in both the Middle East, and Silicon Valley.
Mr. Ulutas studied math, IT, financial engineering and proceeded to work in quantitative research area. His portfolio management experience began at the first and most active hedge fund of his country. During this period he received his CFA charter and managed portfolios of UHNW clients. Sevan was one of the members that designed SMART fund that became the biggest variable fund in Turkey. He leveraged his quant skills in derivatives trading and managing trading desks for top investment houses.
Sevan conducted research on performance and market timing of hedge funds. He delivered consultancy services to several startups and joined Investifai from a top investment house where he was a Managing Director.
Dr. Shapiro is a Canadian entrepreneur with a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Masters’ in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Ottawa. He has performed various top management and management consulting roles throughout his career. The focus of Daniel’s work has been deep learning artificial intelligence, including loan assessment tools, trading algorithms, fraud detection, and biological neural networks (Nuraleve).
Matt is a senior software and hardware developer with over a decade of experience in the start-up trenches, serving in a series of high-level roles in management and engineering. He has worked for multiple startups, and brings with him a wide ranging skillset ranging from PCB design to search and rescue management. His primary focus is on data science, developing machine learning models in the area of predictive analytics.
Brown has over 30 years of general, R&D and engineering management expertise in both start-up companies and large organizations. He is an established engineering veteran in the semiconductor, systems and software industries, having spent the last 15 years in leadership roles at early-stage technology companies; Magor as VP of Product Management, Neterion as VP of Engineering, LoBenn, as President and MKC Networks, as General Manager and COO. He has also held leadership positions over large engineering teams as General Manager at Cadence and CEO at West End Systems. Brown spent the bulk of his early career in semiconductor design, moving up the engineering ranks during Mitel's growth phase, ultimately leading the entire IC development team.
Fatemeh Zabihollahy is currently a PhD candidate of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carleton University. She obtained her Masc. (2016) and BSc (2001) both in Biomedical Engineering from Carleton University, Canada and Shahid Beheshti University, Iran, respectively. She worked in medical devices industry as an R&D engineer for ten years. Her research interest is in the field of application of deep learning techniques for medical image analysis. Fatemeh is passionate about bringing intelligent technology to clinical practice for improved patient care. She developed some algorithm to provide physicians with products that integrate into their clinical workflow.
Dr. Rizwan is a computer scientist with a Ph.D. in the area of deep learning from Georgia Institute of Technology, a M.S. in Computer Engineering from Lahore university of Management & Sciences, and a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from National University of Sciences & Technology. He has over 10 years of diverse research experience and has several research publications to his credit.

Dr. Miodrag Bolic received his PhD degree in electrical engineering from Stony Brook University, USA, in 2004. Since 2004 he has been with the University of Ottawa, Canada where he is a professor with the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Dr. Bolic’s current research includes biomedical signal processing, instrumentation and machine learning. He is a director of Computational Analysis, Acceleration and Applications Research Group (CARG) and Health Devices Research Groups. He published more than 80 journal papers.
